How does a Prop Party work?

Each party guest researches a Prop beforehand, then comes prepared to summarize their findings for the rest of the group. Notes are noted, discussion is discussed, goodwill and understanding is promoted—and everyone leaves ready to cast an educated vote!

What if I'm not registered to vote in California?

You should get registered—the deadline is Oct 24! But you can still attend a party even if you’re not registered to vote.

Can I attend a stranger’s party? Is that weird?

It’ll only be weird if you make it weird—don't do that! Find a welcoming Proposition Party near you.

Can I host a party of my own?

Absolutely! Any voter in California is free to take this idea and run with it. Prop Parties are great resource for high school and college Government/Civics courses, too! If you want your party listed on this site, hit us up!

What about the candidates?

Prop Parties aren't about the candidates—they are about educating California voters on a really important part of the ballot that often gets overlooked amidst the candidate drama. You're on your own with the candidates. Good luck!
